I have been so busy doing with not any time to reflect or write.
I have heard that writing a daily diary helps but I have promised myself for over 30 years that I would start writing daily and it has yet happened.
I don't think at this late date I will start.
I will add some thoughts along the way, this may take a few years to add to but maybe it will help me along the way.
So this is starting a new leaf-blog entry - for the future.

This is the start of a new year. In many ways a start to a new year in what I will be doing. I have made the decision to start over in a new way.
It has been ten years since I started working as a librarian. I love that title. I love being a librarian just about as much as I love being a Mom. Both are such adventurous professions. Both take you into unchartered territory of life.
Now I am starting a new adventure and as such there is always hesitancy and some fear of the unknown. Evenso,I am starting off, the first step of many.
What will I do,I am asked. I have so much to do I'm not sure if I can say what it will be. Sometimes having too much can paralize. I hope to move forward, it may be slow but I will go forward wherever I am and then I will decide what I will do.

Most of the events have been internal discussuions I have had with myself and now have come to some conclusions.
Sometimes the internal struggles are the ones where changes are made that affect future choices and influence so many others. I hope that my struggles have given rise to more effective and better outcomes in my life.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-43696982084552113502009-05-30T17:40:00.002-04:002009-05-30T17:42:48.276-04:00Wonderful LifeLife goes on and we see it reflected in so many ways. The weather is so beautiful today the greenest I've seen the grass and trees and the wonderful smells of flowers in the air.
I am so excited! My daughter just got engaged!
What a day.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-10171702781274505672009-05-08T08:04:00.002-04:002009-05-08T08:09:32.386-04:00Graduation...or notToday most of my class mates are graduating. I chose to wait just one more semester. I don't know if this was a good choice or not. I did so want to see everyone I took a class with at one time or another. It seems I am missing the group fun. I will probably be alone in the fall for graduation. Pity, pity but the choice was already made. I will celebrate with my husband who suffered through this with me and only my cat will be gone. That is what I will miss the most. My cat stayed up with me every night I was working on my papers. She joined me in class every week. I have to make the last class without her.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-44711826359994389022009-04-28T07:09:00.002-04:002009-04-28T07:21:11.903-04:00In Memory of KitsOn Monday, April 27, 2009 I lost my cat. Some people see my photo and wonder why a picture of my cat is there. She was with me for over 15 years. Always by my side. During the last few years she slept right by my head, I heard her breathing every night.
She was the only friend I had for many years. I was at home while my husband was away doing whatever military things he did and my daughter was at school. My cat never left my side. She talked to me, I talked to her. Now the house is silent. So quiet. No one will ever replace her.
At the time we said good by, I wanted to hold on to her just a bit longer. Wasn't there something else I could have done. But there was nothing to make her better. Her cancer had taken her spirit from us and only her shell of a body was left. I wanted to to hold on to her just a bit longer but she would have been the one to suffer for me and she had gone through enough already. How could I keep her for my selfish need. I miss her voice,I miss her warmth, I thoroughly miss her. I can no longer see the computer but I neede to say I loved her and miss her and the words are not enough.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-67196082194225645302008-10-06T15:20:00.002-04:002008-10-06T15:22:46.029-04:00fall 08 or near the end of my academia life what nextI have looked at several options and am thinking of research. What can a public librarian do with research. I have a few ideas. How do the books circulate? what circulates? lets see what happens.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-18156862661042156482008-05-15T16:37:00.002-04:002008-05-15T16:44:46.197-04:00My half lifeI am half way through MLIS. I have come to realize tha there have been some significant things I have learned. The first and most interesting is that I love to write research papers. I have learned a format. This makes it so much more fun. The hard part is finding what to research. There are many subjects and thats what makes it difficult. I can now see so many ways to conduct a research to find out information. I hope that my loe of research continues as I complete my formal education.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-35140867781955335222008-02-04T12:21:00.000-05:002008-02-04T12:36:57.843-05:00Winter- the stirringsI know that many people think that winter is the dead time but for me it is the time to restock and take a look at what you have and what you want.
I have taken stock in my relationships and see where I can have more. It takes a bit of adjusting and a bit of selfishness since most of the time I think of others first. But as of now I think that I need the start of a new time, a new look at what I have.
Just because I will be selfish this year doesn't mean I will ignore those I love because by being more selfish I can give them what they want with no regrets or resistence on my part.
Lets start with my one true love. More time with him is my selfish act. More time with him is what I want and never demanded now its different.
So, this is just a start. I have other things I want to do this year. I hope to make them happen.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-22847900814905517072007-12-22T10:40:00.001-05:002007-12-22T10:43:02.321-05:00End of year reviewWell, I made it through. this has been a totaling self absorbed year. I finished nearly half of my masters program and I am looking forward to the rest. I love this work! I know I agonized through all this and probalby turned everyone at work off with my lamenting but the results! I can't believe I really did it.Look out here I come. I'm trying new things next year as well.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-45374903455545117102007-09-20T15:50:00.001-04:002007-09-20T15:50:20.136-04:00QandANJ: Now You're Library is Open Late Night Too!

Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-68027742377864198652007-09-19T18:46:00.000-04:002007-09-19T18:49:00.332-04:00life after 23 thingsI enjoy having a blog. I don't have any intense or significant sayings or insights but it is fun to see what will come up. I had started on my own and was delighted when our library system offered it to us. I have looked at so many new ways to do things. Some were ways I had been looking to do and did not know how. Such as RSS feeds and widgets and documents online to colaborate with others on. I don't know how to keep up with most of these. I hope that there will be someone in the library system that can point out some new "things" just to keep us informed. I know I won't use all of them but some are highly useful.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-9492598853545164112007-09-10T12:57:00.000-04:002007-09-10T12:59:28.914-04:00Finally complete 23 thingsI have resisted until the very end to download a book from the library webpage. This would be anice addition to any website but I have no time at the present to listen to this. A podcast can make a good edition to a news item about a program. Let there be about a minute to listen to a poem by Nikki Giovanni for promoting the artist. I will have to make a suggestion about this.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-83683357325610064322007-09-05T14:20:00.000-04:002007-09-05T14:22:25.226-04:00WEB 2.0Finally after looking for a few weeks I have found somethign on Web2.0 that I can use. here it is: http://wwwl.meebo.com/index-en.html This is useful on a blog. just what I was looking for. I have tried to set up wiki once. Not much happened. I have set up two for my classes and those worked fine. So, for my own use these are not a effective as I would like.
I checked out a couple of wiki set up by organizations and those seem to be useful. I liked the wiki set up by librarians , one was by ALA a best practice wiki and another was the one set up by Oregon Library" Library 2.0". Those offer good ideas in how libraries can use wikis.
I also liked the Wetpaint wiki but my problem is coming up with names for these. My imagination does not go beyond the basic names. I will take some time to set this one up.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-71535085163515466792007-08-22T15:56:00.001-04:002007-08-22T15:58:04.079-04:00Rollyo search on my blog<fieldset id="'searchboxset'">
Select Search Engine...Craft ChoicesSearch The Web
Powered by Rollyo

</fieldset>Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-68468390140605277322007-08-22T15:39:00.000-04:002007-08-22T15:43:33.267-04:00RollyoI tried to set up a rollyo but I don't actually know what I am doing. Any way , I've been anxious about starting back up to school. So anxious that I was starting to panic since I was not able to get online to find out about my classes. I sent an anxious email to my professors. Then just as soon as I checked my emails there was a notice about waiting until the day classes start to find out about times and other details. Well, I stressed out fo no reason. but I do have a hard time navigating through the webpage to find out what I need. I am getting better at it. I should be really good at it by next semester.Margaritahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08915625124112553735noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904716271190795850.post-52923062741869469532007-08-18T09:56:00.000-04:002007-08-18T09:57:42.161-04:00My librarythingI have had this set up for a while but this is the first time that I will write about it.
